While paper can withstand temperatures of up to 350ºF (177ºC), some computer media will not withstand that heat leaving your data unusable. In addition to keeping your contents cooler some media safes are built with an extra seal to help protect your data from humidity and magnetism.

While paper can withstand temperatures of up to 350 °F (177 °C), computer media such as backup tapes, discs, microfilm and microfiche will be damaged beyond use by temperatures above 125 °F (52 °C) and a humidity of above 80%.
